The French film "Hasards ou coïncidences" inspired Arthur K, founder of "Scène Fragrance", to think about the theme of encounters. "Coïncidence" was also inspired by the films "Death in Venice", "The Great Gatsby" and "Paris, je t’aime - Le Marais".
These beautiful souls could be Romeo and Juliet, Paul Verlaine and Arthur Rimbaud, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera...
Notes of spice and fruit with an alcohol aroma
Arthur K wanted to combine the theme of "love's joy" with the delicious, slightly heady taste of ripe fruit. He remembered the "longan," which he discovered on a trip to Asia and which, when dried, emits a distinct aroma of honey, alcohol, and smoked wood. As a result, longan was chosen as the main note for the perfume "Coïncidence."
He also imagined using alcohol to express the intoxication of love. Perfumer Patrice Revillard executed this concept flawlessly, with rum as the top note and amber as the base note. Thus was born Coïncidence, a harmonious and rich, slightly intoxicating fragrance.

I was so excited to receive my bottle of Coïncidence last week and wow! What an interesting fragrance! I can’t think of any other fragrance that it reminds me of… and I’ve smelled a lot. It truly is a unique piece.
It starts out with a bright and juicy orange.. mixed with a boozy chocolate.. kind of reminds me of chocolate covered candied orange peel. It has a sort of nuttiness to it as well.. but then as it settles, the background notes start to come to the fore.. I can’t believe how refined it is. It’s woody.. musky.. complex, but somehow not overpowering which makes it versatile enough to wear all year round.. but I feel it particularly sings in the colder months. It has a presence to it that is gentle but still a statement. Very cleverly done.
It is very transportive both in scent and bottle.. with the art deco vibe, it takes me back in time to the 1920s era, which I just adore.
To summarise, this is a complex yet elegant scent.. very unisex in scent profile and versatile to wear. A luxurious liquid gold inside a beautiful and unique art deco style bottle. It also came in a beautiful book like box with a magnetic closure. The perfect unique gift for a loved one and also a lovely addition for your own personal collection. If you love movies, art, books and nostalgia, this one is certainly for you!

My bottles have finally escaped customs and are now safely within my grasp. I am very happy with the products. Trying them on was the real treat. The bottles are very substantial and quite pretty. The art deco top is metal and lends to the atmosphere of the bottle and the contents within.
I liked the plaque-like label (which is metal and very pretty). It is not noticeable on the picture, but SF is embossed on the cap and the bottle. A very nice touch.
Initial spray was boozy and incense driven. the boozy note was on the sweet side.
As this dried down, I got the Saffron, leather. It was now over-powering, but lent a more substantial note to the fragrance.
Final dry down I got a woody musky note. This was very close to the skin, but very nice. I am really quite happy and very grateful with this.
